  1. WOW! This matches my opinions very closely. I think a few movements do help counteract many of these by provided "safe" environments to encourage these life skills in scouting.

  2. This is an excellent article. The truths found here in regards to parenting are equally true for the process of developing leadership skills in adults. We all need to experience risk and honest feedback rooted in reality. We also need to learn to fail and learn to learn from other people's failures to maybe prevent some of our own. And we always need to live in a manner that truly reflects our core value system; Sunday mornings I state that as "living a life that makes it easy to believe in Christ." Great article Marie!
